Towing software has been the same for twenty years: heavy, slow, and built for a dispatcher sitting at a desk from six to six. We are building the version that assumes an AI assistant is doing half of that work, and that the person running the company would rather be running the company.
Why work here
TowKey started as software for one towing company and is becoming a product other towing companies can buy. That means the work is unusually concrete. There is a live operation on the other end of every change, and you find out within a day whether it helped.
It also means the interesting problems are not the usual ones. Getting a voice assistant to hear a street name over a running diesel engine. Deciding what an AI is allowed to do without a human saying yes. Making a dispatch board readable at a glance by someone who is also on the phone. None of that is solved by a framework.
The team is small, so there is no layer between you and the decision. If you want to be handed a ticket, this is the wrong place. If you want to see the whole problem, it is a good one.
